Cozy Hearth Cabin

Cozy Hearth Cabin

“I want to spend time with my family and friends around the irori.”*

We built a compact one-story house with a large opening next to the main house. The water source is large enough to be used for various purposes. We used the plaster material Mortex, a plaster that is about 2-3 millimeters thick and has excellent waterproofing, strength, and design, to complete the project. This cozy cabin is a beautiful and functional addition to the property sure to provide many years of enjoyment.

We hope that the time spent in the irori house will bring fond memories of Yatsugatake for generations to come.

*Irori is a traditional Japanese hearth used for heat and cooking. It is a square hole in the floor filled with ashes, where firewood or charcoal is burned.
